Applies to: OneNote for Windows 10.
You can apply the common formatting tools that show on the Home tab close to the top of the app window to edit the text appearance in your notes.
According to the device you’re using, begin by choosing your desired text to format:
- Select and drag over the text if you’re using a mouse and keyboard.
- Double-tap a word and then drag the selection handles should you be using a touch device.
If you’re using a mouse, you can rest the mouse pointer over any button and a command tooltip description will emerge.
If you want to alter the default font settings, click Settings > Options and choose your favourite font and size to accept as the default for any new notes.
To highlight a section of text without reformatting it, pick your ideal text, and then select or tap the Highlight button. To erase the highlighting, pick the highlighted text, and then press or tap the Highlight button again. If you want a different highlight colour, select the arrow beside the highlight button and pick your desired colour.
Tip: To remove all previously applied formatting from text in your notes, select the text, and then click or tap the Clear All Formatting button on the Home tab.
