Applies to: Microsoft Teams.
After you visit any channel in Teams, the very first tab is Conversations. Imagine this as one huge group chat. Everyone with this specific channel access can view the messages on the Conversations tab.
The other vital detail about messages in a channel is that replies to a channel message remain attached to the first message. Effectively, the entire thread of the conversation can be quickly followed by anyone checking it. This is the coolness of threaded conversations!
To reply to a channel message, pick the little Reply link beneath the message.
To send a message to everyone in a specific channel (the whole team), follow these steps:
Initially, pick your desired channel. Then, choose Reply to respond to a current thread or navigate to the compose box at the bottom of the Posts tab to commence a new one. Then, state your message in the box and press Send . Voila! Your message has now became live in the channel.
If you simply want to chat to one person or a small group, see Start a chat in Teams.
