Applies to: Microsoft Teams.
To grab someone’s attention in a channel conversation or a chat, @mention them. Simply enter @ before their name and then choose them from the menu that launches.
Note: You can even mention someone merely by stating their name. Start by capitalising the first letter and as you carry on typing the name, a list of people will unravel for you to pick from.
They get a notification, which they can select to go directly into the stage in the conversation where they were mentioned.
To grab the attention of a whole team, test one of these:
- Post something in the Team’s main channel. The channel name is displayed bold for every team member.
- Enter @team to message everyone on that team.
- State @channel to notify everyone who has saved that channel as their favourite.
FYI, a team owner needs to allow these features.
